hello hello
By Carol Burri

Hello, first of all I’m very happy to have the chance to write a little bit about myself and my daily life. Unfortunately it’s not the best week for blogging since I had to vacate my apartment and move to friends yesterday.
Anyway there is always some time to speak about what I’m actually doing and what’s going on around me.
During my first study in interactive Design, I came across this wonderful little programming language called PROCESSING. It’s open source and available for free at www.processing.org. You can develop generative sketches, images and videos with it.
Last month, late night, at a home party with friends, I shot a couple of b/w portraits with my Hasselblad. After developing the film, I started to experiment with processing in order to create a kind of new look for the portraits. The result is absolutely generative. Every new compilation look’s a little bit different to the previous one. For anyone who is somewhat familiar with programming it is absolutely fair to check it out!

Nice one, don’t know if you guys noticed that we also used processing for the production of the second Schmiede Spezial. http://www.dergreif-online.de/shop/der-greif-schmiede-spezial-2/
The portrait consists of 150 layers, processing enabled us to get the average color value of every pixel, so the poster shows all 150 participants of the media-art festival combined in one image.
